Privacy Policy

BusinessBrokers.net (“BBNet”, “we”) operates the website at https://businessbrokers.net. This page explains what information we collect, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Broker accounts: name, email, phone (optional), and the password you set when you sign up at /broker/signup. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
• Listing submissions: the source URL, pasted text, uploaded screenshots/PDFs, and any edits you make. Listing photos you upload are stored in Supabase Storage.
• Saved searches: the email address you give us when saving a search, plus the search criteria (industry, state, city, price range, keywords).
• Contact form: name, email, and message text. Sent via Web3Forms to mgravel@imergeadvisors.com.

Information we collect automatically

• Analytics: Google Analytics 4 records page views, referrers, device type, and approximate geographic location. Only loaded after you accept cookies.
• Session cookies: Supabase Auth sets cookies when you sign in so we can keep you signed in across pages. Required for the broker portal to function.

How we use information

• Run the broker portal and the public listings directory.
• Send transactional email — signup confirmations, password resets, listing-status updates, and saved-search alerts. Email is sent via Resend.
• Improve the site, fix bugs, and understand which features brokers and buyers actually use.
• Ping search engines (Google, Bing via IndexNow) when listings are published so they appear in search faster.

Sharing with third parties

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We use the following services to operate the site, each of which receives only the data necessary for its function:

• Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Resend — transactional email (auth, alerts).
• Google Analytics — anonymized site usage.
• Google OAuth— “Sign in with Google” authentication.
• Anthropic— when you submit a listing, the text/images you provide are sent to Anthropic's API to draft the listing copy. Not used by Anthropic to train models.
• Web3Forms — receives contact-form submissions and forwards them to our team email.
• Unsplash — stock-photo fallback for listings without broker-supplied images. We send a search query (industry/title); they send a photo URL.

Your choices

• Cookies: the consent banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies. Session cookies for signed-in brokers are required for the portal to work.
• Saved-search alerts: every alert email has an unsubscribe link.
• Delete your broker account or listings: sign in and use the controls in your dashboard, or email us at the address below.
• Access / correction / deletion requests: email us — see contact below.

Data retention

Broker accounts and their listings are retained until you delete them. Saved-search records persist until you unsubscribe or six months after the last alert was sent, whichever is later. Analytics data is retained per Google's default GA4 retention (14 months).

Children

BBNet is not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Substantive changes affecting existing users will be announced via email where reasonable.
